Trauma comes in many shapes and sizes. When most people think of trauma they might think of living in a war zone, but small traumas add up inside of us, shape our neural pathways and make it difficult for us to cope with stress on a day-to-day basis. When these little traumas pile up, we can find ourselves stuck in life and unable to reach our true potential.
Whether it’s through a mindfulness practice, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioural therapy or a combination, you’ll transform your understanding of yourself and work to become unstuck.
Deepika Mittra has been counselling since 2008. Her work stresses self care as an antidote to the pressures of modern life: when you look after yourself you can be your best self for everybody around you. She offers counselling sessions for individuals, couples and family groups on Mondays and Wednesdays, at $180 per hour.
