Long Lost Hello

Hello strangers!

It has been a hot minute since I sent anything along. For some, though you've been working with me for a while, this is your first experience of me invading your inbox! Don't worry, it isn't super frequent (as in the last one was January 2023!). On a basic level, my newsletter and blog have been a way to get out pertinent information about my hours, office closure dates, etc. But, in years past, it was also a means to share things like mindfulness tools, interesting links and opportunities, and it has been a platform for my own reflection and writing.

If you've worked with me, I've likely encouraged you to try out journaling. There are many means of journaling - gratitude lists, art journaling, venting and ripping it up, keeping notes about life as it unfolds, guided journals... and there is no right way! Research has revealed a lot of evidence about the benefits of keeping a journal and one of my favourites is it gets the hamster off the wheel in our minds so we can stop spinning, spinning, spinning.

While by no means must journal entries be shared, at times, my newsletter and blog have been like a journal for me. I have found them meaningful, a way to process feelings about things like world events, and share ideas with others. In other moments, the pressure of writing something I share publicly has felt not only like another to-do list item, but a burden. That's why, over the past nineteen months, I have stepped back. There was a lot going on in my world and it was a good choice to conserve my own resources. I will try to write more regularly but with life being the rollercoaster that it is, I make no promises. I do guarantee to continue to connect.

While I enjoy writing as a means of communicating, it doesn't compare with being able to connect in person, or virtually. For the time being, I am keeping my hours the same: Wednesdays 10 am to 7:30 pm and Thursdays 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. As a heads up, if you don't see a time that works for you, feel free to message, as sometimes I can see openings in my calendar that you can't. In the meantime, perhaps you want to grab your journal and a pen?!

Smiles,

Deepika
